We're 20 years old!!
Last week we celebrated our 20th year helping the residents of Suffolk before, during and after a cancer diagnosis!
The Trustees of the charity, the team, complementary therapists and counsellors, and others all joined together at The Crown in Woodbridge to celebrate the milestone and look back on what the charity has accomplished over the last 20 years!
It was also another special anniversary for Karen Hare, Chief Executive, who has been with the charity for 10 years, and for her to reflect on how far along she has brought the charity to meet the present needs.
The evening was filled with food, laughter, stories and speeches, Jonny Ripman, Chairman, stood up and spoke about how far the charity has come along, pointing out the charities biggest achievements and thanking everybody who has been involved from the beginning and who is new to the team.
Mr Ripman said “Present highlights are the education project which continues to show the need for prevention work, the pride in reaching so many people, over 30,000 to date from 4084 is a real achievement.
He continued “The development of the ‘It’s All About You’ Beauty, Wig and Wellbeing project is a step in the right direction. The charity has helped some remarkable women through these workshops, and it makes it an honour to be able to give them a little help at a difficult time in their lives".
We reflected on the time of building the John Le Vay Cancer Information and Support Centre, and joining with Caring for Me. We welcomed our new complementary therapist and counsellors, and spoke about how we were looking forward to hopefully opening another wellbeing centre in West Suffolk!
